Development And Validation EngineerWe are looking for high-performing development and validation engineers with engine, transmission, and drive unit experience.

Responsibilities include planning, developing, and executing subsystem level tests in a world class testing and development facility. Tasks also include data analysis, calibration development, identifying opportunities for data reduction, and leading the migration of lab-based activities to math. This is an assignment where creativity, initiative and independent judgment are involved, and effective cross-organizational teamwork is crucial.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow development and validation hardware through readiness process - support setup and debugging to assure test readinessTrack and report on testing progress and issuesDevelop and implement first-time capable tests for hardware development and validationLead diagnosis and resolution of issues that occur during setup and testingInteract with facilities, technical leads, calibration teams, hardware release engineers, and others to improve process and test efficiencyUtilize post processing tools to assure data quality and track usefulness of data in generation of final reportsImplement standard work processes and procedures globallySupport math-based activities, migrating additional work from Road and Lab to Math (RLM) based models and data analysisTrain, mentor, and develop new engineersEducation and TrainingBS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or PhysicsRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum 2 years of experience in automotive engineering with engine, transmission, or drive unit knowledgeDemonstrated drive for resultsExcellent planning and problem-solving skillsHigh level of oral and written communication skillsHigh level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others, and ability to establish peer relationshipsAbility to prioritize work and resources, and work independently with minimal directionProficient with computer and data acquisition systemsExperience in data analysis to optimize testing or model resultsAbility to travel as required for offsite testing (less than 15%)Preferred Skills and ExperienceExperience with AVL PUMA/IndiCom and ETAS INCA softwareExposure to propulsion system calibration in test and vehicle environment2-5 years of experience with engine, transmission, or drive unit testing, calibration, or hardware developmentExperience with engine dyno setup and testingExperience with Diesel engine function, architecture and subsystemsYears of experience: at least 2-4 yearsHomerun candidate would be someone who has fuel injector experience, previously worked with injectors
