Product Development EngineerWe are currently looking for a Product Development Engineer who will directly contribute to the creation and release of next-generation, customer-specific sensor products. This engineer will need strong design skills, a passion for exploring new applications, and the ability to partner with customers to craft customized solutions that meet their needs and business interests.As part of a small dynamic team, this position will enhance your toolbox with exposure to a broad range of applications we service, from agriculture, robotics, to medical. We need self-motivated individuals with a strong skill set in finite element modeling software and excellent communication skills to work across our organization with customers, technicians, engineers, the sales team, and business managers.Primary responsibilitiesStrong, creative-minded individual to develop and create customized sensor solutionsWork with our sales team and customers to define cost effective sensors for our marketplaceWork with manufacturing team to develop production processes and test protocolsIdentify, and validate materials appropriate for specific applicationsGenerate concept designs, cost estimates, and performance specificationsSupport the ISO 9000 quality system as appropriateActively contributing during department meetings and project-specific meetings including customer interactionTravel to customer and manufacturing plant locations when necessaryProfessional qualificationsBachelor's degree required in mechanical engineering, master's degree preferredMust have a minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience in mechanical designExperience with project management a plusInterest in business aspects of projectsExcellent communication skills, strong presentation skillsExcellent knowledge of stress analysis and finite softwareDemonstrated working knowledge of FEA software preferably Creo5 to 10 years in product developmentPersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to use the PC, including MS Word, Excel, Windows, and SAP.Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including team-based problem resolutions.Effective interpersonal skills, ability to function as a team member and address conflict constructively.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Physical DemandsDaily telephone/computer usageRepetitive motionCompensation:The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 annually plus 10% bonus.
