About Janitor

Janitor is building AI interactive entertainment for millions of people. Every day our users create characters, worlds, stories, and relationships with AI. We are looking for a designer who wants to shape how all of that works and feels.

People spend hours here. Small decisions about how they discover a character, follow a conversation, or build something of their own matter. There is a lot to improve, and you will have room to decide what that looks like.

What you'll work on

• Designing the core experience across web and mobile: discovering characters, chatting, creating, and more




• Turning complicated AI-enabled features into interactions people understand without explanation




• Giving Janitor a more consistent visual language, with care for typography, layout, motion, and the details people touch every day




• Working directly with engineers to get designs built and making sure the shipped product feels right




• Using the product, listening to users, and revisiting decisions based on what you learn

You might be a good fit if

• You have experience working on consumer products with a particular focus on mobile apps and mobile web




• You're excited about having ownership over the look and feel of a product used by millions of people every day




• You enjoy working quickly as part of a small team

We have a strong preference for candidates who can work in-person in our San Francisco office, but will consider remote candidates for this role.
