Buyer II
We are seeking an experienced Buyer II to join our operations and procurement team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong negotiation, supplier management, and purchasing experience, particularly in fast-paced and technically driven industries. You will play a key role in coordinating purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials critical to program success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the purchasing of materials, services, and products to meet program requirements.
- Collaborate with program leads to identify long-lead materials and support sourcing decisions.
- Prepare and process purchase orders using Coupa and Costpoint software.
- Manage supplier orders, monitor backlog, track order status, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Partner with logistics to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing, storage, and transportation requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports for leadership review.
- Resolve discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, invoices, and supplier payments.
- Expedite materials for shortage management and coordinate returns for discrepant materials.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of tactical-level purchasing experience.
- Aerospace/defense industry experience preferred.
- APICS, CPM, CPSM, or CSCP certification is a plus.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP systems (Coupa, Costpoint preferred).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
