In the United States, Civil and Building North America (CBNA) leads the delivery of complex underground and infrastructure projects. CBNA notably delivered the Port of Miami Tunnel in 2014 and the Pawtucket CSO Tunnel in 2025, and is currently working on major projects such as the Potomac River Tunnel in the Washington, DC area.The Potomac River Tunnel project is a landmark initiative under the Clean Rivers Project.
The project aims to construct a nearly 5.5 miles tunnel beneath the Potomac River with 2 different TBM, serving as a critical infrastructure element to control combined sewer overflows. This will significantly enhance the water quality of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers and Rock Creek while bolstering the sewer system's capacity.Position SummaryThe Procurement Officer is responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and subcontracted services necessary for the successful delivery of construction projects. This role plays a key part in supporting project execution by ensuring purchases are made on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.
The Purchasing Agent also maintains strong working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, project teams, and other internal stakeholders to help drive efficient and cost-effective procurement processes.Key ResponsibilitiesSource, evaluate, and procure construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and contract documents.Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders (POs) and subcontracts aligned with approved scopes of work, project budgets, and schedules.Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations to assess pricing, compliance, lead times, and overall value.Ensure all procurement activities are consistent with approved submittals, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.Coordinate delivery schedules with project management, field teams, and suppliers to support construction timelines and avoid delays.Monitor lead times and proactively identify potential procurement risks, delays, or supply chain issues.Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and tracking logs, and provide regular procurement status updates to project management.Support cost control efforts by helping identify purchasing efficiencies and competitive sourcing opportunities.Foster and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to support smooth project execution.If you have any questions feel free to contact Adelie Gobin
