About The Position
The Procurement Manager will oversee the end-to-endsupply chain process for direct chemicals (excluding biodiesel feedstocks) andindirect materials, combining strategic procurement with efficient interactionof plant personnel. This role is responsible for sourcing ~$130M in high-qualitymaterials (both chemicals and indirects), supplies, and energy, negotiatingcost-effective supplier contracts. The ideal candidate ensures that materialsarrive on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standardsto support our ongoing business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* ProcurementStrategy : Design and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies tosecure raw materials, goods, or services at competitive market rates.
* VendorManagement : Source, evaluate, and build long-term relationships withglobal and domestic suppliers using objective performance scorecards.
* ContractNegotiation : Lead complex contract negotiations regarding pricing,credit terms, lead times, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
* Inventory :Monitor warehouse stock levels using ERP/MRP systems to optimize inventorybalances with plant personnel.
* CostOptimization : Analyze supply chain data and financial metrics toidentify bottleneck exceptions and implement transportation cost-savinginitiatives.
* TeamLeadership : Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance ofpurchasing technologists.
Key Qualifications
* Education :Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management , BusinessAdministration, or a related field.
* Experience :Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement,purchasing, or logistics management.
* TechnicalSavvy : High proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP), andadvanced Microsoft Excel.
* NegotiationPower : Proven track record of closing highly favorable supplier andfreight carrier agreements.
* AnalyticalThinking : Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills to readcomplex financial datasets and forecast price trends.
* CommunicationSkills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to aligncross-functional goals across finance, operations, and external vendors.
