This role will coordinate the scheduling, purchasing of equipment, materials, supplies and expediting services. In addition, this role will manage all vendor relationships and ensure ordered products are purchased at optimum cost and received within the stated timeframe.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work closely with vendors to ensure on time deliveries, consistent quality, and uninterrupted supply chain, and best pricingHandle correspondence concerning under/over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, or prices and report such changes to the internal stakeholders in a timely mannerAct as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve any/all procurement related challengesImplement procurement strategy to ensure continuity of supply and alternative source of supplyUnderstand & communicate market dynamics & price movementsAnalyze spend for vendors and service providers to define portfolio strategyLead quality improvement program for vendors and service providersAnalyze inventory and payment terms financial impactDeliver price saving projects as defined by the procurement managerLead supplier development program as assigned by procurementRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Post-secondary education and/or work experience in a related field3 to 5 years' minimum experience working in procurementExperience working in a construction environment is preferredSound knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerpointExceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, able to work on multiple projects at the same time and effectively manage prioritiesAbility to manage and coordinate competing organizational needsKnowledge and experience with strategic procurement process, procurement best practices, import regulations, competitive bidding, market conditions, general contract terms and conditionsStrong communication skillsAbility to distill strategy into a clear, compelling, and concise narrativeAbility to analyze complex data and derive well supported conclusionsDemonstrated problem solving skillsWhat CRH Offers You:Highly competitive base payComprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programsGroup retirement savings programHealth and wellness programsAn inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotionAbout CRH:CRH has a long and proud heritage.
