Processing Engineer, LossThe Production Loss Engineer is responsible for identifying and driving the reduction of dairy losses across the entire production process. They are responsible for site-level mass balance analysis to identify all sources of product loss and driving effective problem solving to identify process improvements to reduce or eliminate losses. The Production Loss Engineer is responsible for the data analysis and identification of key initiatives related to the plant-wide dairy losses and then collaborate with other departments to drive implementation.Responsibilities:Lead data analysis and data model development to account for dairy losses across the facilityPartner with Finance to ensure accurate accounting of lossesLead cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and collaborate to drive implementationDesign and implement innovative ways to track and trend product loss data (bottle weights, scrap, component testing, process optimization)Lead Problem Solving to identify root cause and implement corrective and preventative actionsReview and report out daily product lossesBuild reports and tools to track and monitor product loss data throughout the plantVerify that all CIPS, flushes, processing systems, fillers, etc.

Ensure processes are monitored and optimized.Work closely with production and continuous improvement to identify and facilitate product savings activities across the facility.Skills/Qualifications Required:Bachelor's Degree (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline preferred) with proven knowledge of process flow and fluid mass balanceMinimum of 3-5 years of food industry or chemical process related experienceProven experience working in a manufacturing setting, with a passion for reducing waste and improving sustainabilityData driven with the ability to analyze and contextualize relevant dataContinuous Improvement mindset including root cause analysisAbility to manage projects effectively with cross functional teams and multiple stakeholdersStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsAbility to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentKnowledge of computerized information systems used in production, quality assurance, maintenance, and ERP applicationsAble to understand and utilize engineering drawings, operating manuals, and blueprints to conduct businessStrong financial acumen and ability to translate production losses into financial impactSkills/Qualifications Preferred:Aseptic/Dairy experience including UHT's, homogenizers, separators, filtration plants, mixproof valves, motors, pumpsAbility to update P&ID's, mechanical/electrical prints (CAD/SolidWorks preferred)Ability to understand and recommend changes to PLC LogicWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:Sitting/Standing/Walking: Stands, walks, and sits during completion of job responsibilities.Lifting/Carrying: Occasional lifting requirements as job demands.
