Process Technician

Job TitleEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists in plant production and quality assurance while maintaining processes & maximizing machine performance, safety, and qualityEfficient mold/machine set-upsOptimizing the use of automationAssist in mold changeovers and preventative maintenance, as requiredConducts mold/machine/material testing, as requiredMaintains a safe work environmentProvide ongoing technical support to plant operations to ensure safety, productivity, quality and delivery performance for the plantSupport Plant EIPs (Earnings Improvement Program)Complete machine start-ups, as mold changes are completed, including submitting start-up parts to QC for inspectionAdjust processes as required to maintain dimensions to specificationsRequirements:Extensive knowledge of the molding process, molding equipment, molding materials and mold toolingAbility to react to situations in a timely manner and be flexible with people and operational assetsTroubleshoot operating and related process equipment and recommend solutions. Must have good problem-solving and reasoning skillsEvaluate design proposals and implementationMaintain process documentation.Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and material specifications.Be able to read mold printsBe creative, organized self-starter that can work with little or no supervisionRequires good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a cooperative environment.Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices.Good verbal and written communication skills.Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervisionStrong critical thinking skillsFluent in English, with the ability to read, write and communicateMust be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment
