Process Team ManagerThe Process Team Manager ensures the efficient and economical refining of raw sugar and the production of white, soft confectioners and liquid sugars according to established quality standards. Must be flexible to work rotating shifts (days, nights, and weekends) to support 24/7 plant operations, including overtime and holiday coverage as required.Directly supervises all activities in the refinery and also supervises any onsite process supervisors and hourly employees. Directs the entire refining process from receipt of dry raw sugar through melting, clarification, decolorization, filtration, crystallization and drying and directs the production of finished products in liquid form. Supervises directly all process activities. Assures that specified quality standards are met at all stages of the process. Modifies the process within established limits to meet this objective at least cost. Sets priorities on shift and meets shift objectives.
Controls the use of energy (fuel and steam), water, air, and electric power in an ongoing effort to reduce refining costs. Controls the use of refining aids, such as bone char, polymer, etc. Ensures that cost objectives are met. Ultimately responsible for the system of house control locks and for prevention of sugar losses to waste or to the Bay through this system. Develops supervisory and operating personnel to ensure optimum use of labor force assigned to each shift. Evaluates the performance of subordinates. Handles employee and labor relations problems on shift within limits of the contract, delegated authority and established guidelines.
Coordinates all plant operations on swing and night shifts (in cooperation with the Shift Superintendent – Packaging). Handles contacts with the government agencies and local residents on night shifts. Observes process operations and recommends improvements. Responsible for training and safety of assigned personnel and for housekeeping, sanitation and equipment maintenance in assigned areas. Ensures that GMP standards are maintained. Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis. Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc. Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment.Location: Crockett, CAPay Range: $104,500 - $194,500The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
