Onsite Full Time Biotechnology Research

This role will support their manufacturing facility in Oceanside, CA. The company designs and manufactures innovative laboratory products and consumables used in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and life sciences industries. Their products support cell growth, sample clarification, and analytical chemistry workflows.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify automation and semi-automation opportunities across manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with automation integrators to design and implement scalable automation solutions.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) by identifying automation opportunities early in the product lifecycle.
  • Lead automation projects from concept through stabilization using A3 / Project Charter methodology.
  • Manage integrator selection, scope definition, design reviews, FAT/SAT, installation, and ramp-up.
  • Establish baseline and target metrics for quality, capacity, labor, and cost improvements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure compliant and sustainable solutions.


Success Metrics

  • Automation projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Measurable improvements in quality, capacity, delivery, and cost.
  • Successful integration of automation into NPD processes.
  • Long-term adoption of scalable automation solutions by operations teams.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of automation experience in:
  • Injection molding
  • Injection blow molding
  • Blow molding environments
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience owning automation projects from:
  • Process assessment
  • Design and specification
  • Integrator management
  • Installation
  • Ramp-up and stabilization
  • 5+ years working with automation integrators and capital equipment suppliers.
  • Experience within regulated manufacturing environments such as:
  • Life Sciences
  • Medical Devices
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • FDA/GMP/ISO-regulated industries
  • Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience with A3 problem-solving methodologies.
  • Hands-on manufacturing mindset.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
