job summary:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to drive performance across high-cavity injection molding operations in the Charlotte Metro area! In this role, you'll serve as the plant's go-to expert for mold troubleshooting, process optimization, and tooling reliability. Working directly with both floor processing and the toolroom, you will fine-tune process parameters, reduce scrap, and handle tooling modifications in SolidWorks to keep high-cavity tools running at peak performance. 401k & Retirement Savings, Medical/Dental/Vision, Vacation, and Paid Parental Leave!

responsibilities:

  • Set up and fine-tune injection molding process parameters to fix fill imbalances, reduce cycle times, and eliminate scrap on tools up to 128 cavities.
  • Investigate production floor issues, run root cause analyses on tool or process failures, and put permanent corrective actions in place.
  • Work closely with toolmakers to implement mold modifications, repairs, dynamic venting fixes, and steel adjustments based on process data.
  • Use SolidWorks exclusively to design mold modifications, minor engineering changes, and replacement tooling components.
  • Partner with maintenance and automation teams to troubleshoot mold interface issues, hot runner systems, and cooling setups.
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in plastic injection mold design, manufacturing, and refurbishment.
  • understanding of process engineering as it relates to plastic injection molding and high-cavity tooling systems (up to 128 cavities).
  • proficiency in SolidWorks (all design work is performed exclusively in SolidWorks).
  • ability to interpret complex technical drawings and documentation.
