Process EngineerPlastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver).Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative manufacturing environmentGrowth potential within the companyThe Process Engineer is responsible for engineering activities focused on injection molding and associated manufacturing processes.

This role involves process design, optimization, troubleshooting, and innovation for polymer-based products. The Process Engineer ensures consistent quality, efficiency, and reliability of manufacturing processes while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.Develop and optimize injection molding and extrusion processes to ensure consistent quality and efficiencyDesign, test, and validate tooling, equipment, and processes for new product introductionsMonitor and troubleshoot production processes to resolve issues and improve performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving measuresAssist with investigations into process deviations, root causes, and corrective actionsEnsure compliance with industry standards and company quality systems, including IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirementsManage supplier relationships for tooling and raw materials, ensuring quality and delivery timelines are metDevelop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for polymer processingProvide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams regarding molding and extrusion equipmentLead projects related to process development, scale-up, and commercialization of new polymer productsAnalyze data to identify trends, improve process efficiency, and reduce scrap ratesContribute to a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular risk assessmentsEnsure materials compatibility and evaluate raw materials to meet performance requirementsPerform other duties as assignedBachelor's degree in engineering1-5 years of injection molding experience or Bachelor's degree in plastics engineeringProficiency with CAD softwareExperience following work instructions, process documentation, and procedures to ensure safe working conditionsA team-driven attitude to work together and support department initiativesThe ability to complete production paperwork, which includes inventory accuracyExcellent verbal and written communications requiredDemonstrated communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent decision-making and problem-solving skillsTeam-orientedMust be detail-oriented and produce high quality work in a high-volume environmentProven problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to remain detail-oriented and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environmentTravel as required, 10%M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
