The Process Engineer is responsible for the continued development and implementation of the manufacturing and operations systems for the company. This position is responsible for evaluating new and existing processes, and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.

Essential Functions


  • Cost reduction activities. Project work such as equipment purchases and process refinement working towards reduction in scrap, equipment downtime and improvements in output.
  • Manufacturing support. Engineering intervention to maintain present production rate, downtime, reduction in late orders and training.
  • Process sales samples. Quality samples to the customer as well as correct process documentation.
  • Corrective actions. MRB, SPC, Customer complaints and specification verification.
  • Maintain Axis System of process documentation. Insure accurate process documentation.
  • Work with suppliers of raw material and equipment. Quality improvement and cost reduction in raw material and the best value for the dollar spent on equipment.
  • Initiate, write and train employees on new procedures.
  • R&D sample production. Troubleshooting and process updates as well as orchestrate handoff of new products / process from R&D to manufacturing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

Occasional travel may be requested.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the wire and cable manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment, test methods, and data analysis.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications.
  • Experience with SPC, PFMEA, process validation, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management systems.
