Job ScopeGenerally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of process engineering assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Conduct and lead Root Cause Analysis and identifying preventative / corrective actionsP&ID developmentComplete Mass and Energy Balances on unit operations to processesProvide process data to size pumps, exchangers, control valves, flow meters and other basic equipment or unit operationsBasic systematic troubleshootingProficient in Excel and other MS Office productsSupport the site's safety efforts through activities such as safety observations, safety improvement projects and key safety procedure audits.Resolving day-to-day production issues and process problemsInitiate and/or approve MOC requests to include action items, training, PSSR's, etc. and communicate changes.Assist in incident investigations, identifying root causes and appropriate corrective actions to improve safety and environmental performance at the Bessemer City site.Analysis of Asset Utilization data for reliability and capacity improvement opportunitiesProcess safety assessment and improvement initiativesMaintaining accurate process technology informationDevelopment and execution of small-scale quality, yield, or capacity improvement initiativesCapital project supportPlant / process start-upsParticipate in Process Hazards Analysis teams.Support resolution of high-risk scenario action items generated from PHA teams, etc.Ideal BackgroundEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Registration: Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification is highly preferred.Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong knowledge of chemical processing with the ability to solve complex chemical engineering process problemsExposure to production and process functions; experience in a PSM covered process (preferred).Proficient in Project Management & AFE ProcessPresentation skills, public speakingKnowledge of LOPA, PHA, EHS Policy/Procedures/SOPEnvironmental Regulations Specific to Plant ProcessesProficiency in DCS/PLC Process ControlComfortable being out in the plantGood composureFamiliar with Lean manufacturing principles, OAUIdentify through observation bottlenecks and issues to help the existing production process run betterEffective communicator, up and downFamiliar with and know how to read single line diagrams, piping isometrics, tank and equipment drawingsProcess safety knowledgeTechnical / functional skillsProblem solvingActions oriented / drive for resultsDecision quality and data-based decision makingPlanning and project managementInterpersonal skills and self-awarenessApproachabilityComfort around higher managementCustomer focusPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a "team mentality" so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
