Our primary focus is on advanced electricnvehicle batteries, but our materials will also be applicable and very attractive for many other end-nuser applications using lithium-ion batteries. If you areninterested in a dynamic, high-growth opportunity where you can dig in and make a difference,nwe look forward to meeting you.nSummary of Position: The Process Development Engineer at Stratus Material is directlynresponsible for developing, prototyping, and validating processes used to manufacture thencathode active materials in our pilot and pre-pilot lines. We seek an individual with practicalnexperience in developing processes from initial concept through to large-scale implementation.nThe ideal candidate should also possess a proactive, interdisciplinary approach to addressingnchallenges. This role will work closely with material scientists, operations technicians, quality andntest engineers to develop world class energy storage materials which requires strong verbal andnwritten communication skills.nResponsibilitiesn• Own the development and optimization of novel material manufacturing technologiesn• Prioritize safety across all aspects of manufacturing, ranging from process design tonscaled operationsn• Collaborate with the product design, R&D, quality, equipment and supply chain teams tontranslate product requirements into manufacturing processes that achieve our companyntargetsn• Select the right manufacturing methods to make the best possible cathode activenmaterials and validate those recommendations through rigorous engineeringnexperiments and qualification buildsn• Demonstrate ownership and accountability, making a major impact on our materialnproduction technology by commissioning and owning novel processes in a fast-pacednprototype manufacturing environmentn• Support documentation and training activities related to the transition of processes intonoperations including standard operation procedures (SOPs) and preventativenmaintenance activitiesnRequirements – Education, Experience, and Skills:n• At least 3 years of experience in a materials-oriented manufacturing environment inneither process engineering, new product introduction or scale-upn• A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalentn• Hands on experience with medium to large equipment and a desire to roll up yournsleeves and fill the gaps where necessaryn• Proficiency in process engineering principles, statistical analysis, and qualitynmanagement systems for process optimization and improvementn• Experience owning manufacturing processes and showing accountability for theirnquality, throughput, yield, and overall successn• Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skillsnRequirements – Geographic and Physical:n● Located in Pittsburgh, PAn● Able to frequently move about an office and standing on a production floor.n● Light lifting and ascending/descending stairsnAlong with an exceptional culture and an opportunity to make a global difference, StratusnMaterials offers a competitive compensation and benefits package as well as an entrepreneurialnenvironment and the opportunity for phenomenal professional growth and development.nFounded in early 2022 by a team including Dr.
