Process Analyzer EngineerAs a Process Analyzer Engineer within the Engineering Services Department, you will play a critical role in providing engineering, technical, and project support for process analyzers, sample systems, and on-line analytical services to our plant operations, maintenance, and project teams. Your focus will be on the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of process analyzer systems at our Longview, Texas site, with special emphasis on process gas chromatographs, process safety analyzers, and environmental monitoring, while also offering support to other locations as needed.Responsibilities:Deliver expert process analyzer engineering support in a chemical manufacturing environment, primarily for the Texas site, with the flexibility to assist other sites as requiredIdentify and implement opportunities for improved process analyzers, sample systems, and on-line analytical services with a focus on quality, cost and reliabilityMaintain technical expertise in assigned functional areas of process analyzers and sample systems, including process gas chromatographs, process safety analyzers and environmental monitoringProvide engineering design, equipment specifications and scope definition to support procurement and construction activities for capital and maintenance projectsDevelop forecast cost and schedule estimates for capital and maintenance projects involving process analyzers and sample systemsLead and participate on standards teams to develop and maintain analyzer and sample system standards and practices, aligning with PIP and other applicable industry standardsInterpret codes and standards related to functional areas of expertise and ensure their application across site projectsProvide training to operating departments and Analyzer Mechanics related to assigned functional areasStay updated on emerging analyzer technologies and industry best practices by attending user symposiums, engaging with vendors, participating in training sessions and reviewing relevant literatureServe as an active contributor to the TXO Process Analyzer Team (TX PAT) and the Eastman Corporate Process Analyzer Collaboration Team (PACT) to drive alignment between Engineering, Maintenance and OperationsCollaborate with E&I team members on continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing analyzer engineering processes and standardsOffer on-call analyzer engineering support for plant maintenance and operations, ensuring timely resolutions to issues that ariseProvide maintenance troubleshooting support for more complex on-line analyzer issuesExecute all responsibilities with a strong emphasis on safety in both work practices and design considerationsFoster teamwork and prioritize customer satisfaction in all interactionsSupport the Management of Change processPrioritize work assignments based on safety, environmental considerations, regulatory compliance and economic impact to EastmanQualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering required. At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in analytical lab or with process analyzer and sample system design and/or maintenance required. Competency in electrical engineering concepts and theory, with a general understanding of the application of power distribution, controls and process instrumentation. Basic understanding of process analysis. Familiarity with analytical equipment design and application. Familiarity with sample system design and application. General Engineering and Project Management Skills, including: Ability to work effectively in a team environment with personnel from diverse backgrounds. Ability to effectively handle a large volume of important or urgent issues in a timely manner. Ability to effectively self-manage a very demanding workload. Experience with process gas chromatographs, process safety analyzers and environmental monitoring systems. In-depth experience with sample system design and maintenance improvements, including all aspects of delivering a representative sample to a process analyzer. Familiarity with PIP and other industry standards applicable to process analyzers and sample systems.
Experience leading or contributing to analyzer standards, procedures, and engineering practices.
Experience interfacing with analyzer networks and data systems. Demonstrated technical leadership in a site or corporate setting.
