Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Technician to work at our facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX .

Pay starting at $22.00

Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (8 hour shifts as available and on weekends)

Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician supports the preparation and distribution of medications and related functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a secure correctional healthcare setting. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication services to an incarcerated population, while maintaining compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.

Essential Functions:

   Prepare, package, and label medications for dispensing as prescribed, under pharmacist supervision

   Process medication orders using institutional pharmacy software

   n

3. n

   Maintain accurate inventory of medications, supplies, and controlled substances

   n

4. n

   Deliver and restock medication carts or cabinets within the facility housing units or medical areas

   n

5. n

   Handle returns, destructions, and expired medications in compliance with protocols

   n
n
6. n

   Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area

   n
n
7. n

   Communicate effectively with healthcare staff, custody officers, and patients as needed

   n

8. n

   Adhere to strict security protocols at all times

   n

9. n

   Document and report medication discrepancies, shortages, or incidents per policy

   n

10. n

    Participate in quality assurance, audits, and compliance procedures

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required. Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience is required. IV certification required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements to include physical agility test and pass an annual background check.
