Scope
Under general supervision, the role is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/Sims and diagnostic radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely transfer of data; and fabricates any necessary immobilization devices prior to scan as needed.
Functions
- Administer Radioactive Tracer (F18 FDG) as well as I.V. contrast.
- Perform and maintain quality control procedures for PET imaging.
- Perform functional imaging (PET) scans for diagnostic purposes.
- Perform diagnostic CT scans for routine radiologic exams.
- Perform CT scans for radiation treatment planning purposes.
- Fabricate immobilization and other treatment devices.
- Perform chest x‑rays.
- Participate in rotational call.
Qualifications
- This position is PRN and requires availability for 2 days per week on average, depending on coverage needs.
- Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology.
- Registered by ARRT and NMTCB with a current license by the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum two years of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist.
- Minimum two years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
- CT experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy training preferred.
