Scope

Under general supervision, the role is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/Sims and diagnostic radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely transfer of data; and fabricates any necessary immobilization devices prior to scan as needed.

Functions

  1. Administer Radioactive Tracer (F18 FDG) as well as I.V. contrast.
  2. Perform and maintain quality control procedures for PET imaging.
  3. Perform functional imaging (PET) scans for diagnostic purposes.
  4. Perform diagnostic CT scans for routine radiologic exams.
  5. Perform CT scans for radiation treatment planning purposes.
  6. Fabricate immobilization and other treatment devices.
  7. Perform chest x‑rays.
  8. Participate in rotational call.

Qualifications

  • This position is PRN and requires availability for 2 days per week on average, depending on coverage needs.
  • Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology.
  • Registered by ARRT and NMTCB with a current license by the state of Louisiana.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
  • CT experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy training preferred.
