MRI Technologist PositionOur innovative and growing company is searching for an experienced MRI technologist. MRI technologists utilize their communication, patient care and collaborative skills to interact with patients and other members of the healthcare team. They are responsible to ascertain each individual's safety in the MR environment before entering the magnetic field.
MRI technologists utilize their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of MRI to operate MRI scanners safely and efficiently, assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Effective MRI technologists are patient advocates who display reflective, responsible practice and have strong problem solving and technical skills.MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:These minimum qualifications have been agreed upon by Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center Administration in the job class and are based upon job analysis and essential functions.EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Education: Graduate of a licensed Radiologic Technologist Program and clinically documented training.AND Experience: MRI experience in a high-volume environmentCertification / License Requirements: Must possess American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification and Mississippi State Department of Health licensure. Certification and licensure must remain current and valid.
Must possess MRI certification and license.Essential Functions:Performs MRI examinationsAssists with day-to-day unit operational issuesWorks with team on protocol development and reviewUnder the direction of the MRI Manager, and the medical direction of the radiologists, perform all phases of cross-sectional imaging.Scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and anything deemed necessary by the MRI ManagerTechnologist is responsible for the protection of patients and staff from the magnetic field, including but not limited to all safety measuresExplain procedures, answer patient's questions as fully as possibleProperly position patients and coils on a tableSet appropriate technical parameters, operate MRI scanners and related equipment, and observe image data on computer monitors during scansGuide and monitor patients during scans that may take up to 90 minutes to completeRecognize and respond to life threatening situationsJob may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the MRI ManagerResponsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentationEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
