This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.Position DetailsEmployment Type: PRN (as needed)Shift: 12-hour Day Shifts (1st shift; schedule varies)Department: Laboratory ServicesTravel: None requiredSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneCompensation: Commensurate with experienceKey ResponsibilitiesPerform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing in areas including:Hematology and CoagulationChemistryUrinalysisMicrobiologyBlood BankEnsure proper specimen collection, handling, processing, and reportingMaintain quality control procedures, calibration, and equipment performanceIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve testing discrepanciesReport critical values promptly and accurately in accordance with protocolsAssist with phlebotomy as neededMaintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standardsDocument results accurately and in a timely mannerMinimum QualificationsCertification: Eligible for or certified as one of the following:Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT – ASCP or AMT)Medical Technologist (MT – ASCP, AMT, or HEW)Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS – NCA, ASMT, or equivalent)Education: Appropriate laboratory education and training in accordance with federal and state guidelinesCertification Requirement: CPR certification required or ability to obtain within twelve (12) monthsAdditional: Must be eligible for MLT certification within twelve (12) months if not already certifiedCore CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and teamworkCommitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered careEmployment RequirementsCompliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)BenefitsPRN employees are eligible for select benefits in accordance with hospital policy.
