PRN Medical Lab Scientist/Tech - SamaritanPRN As needed position for weekends evening coverage, as well as, PTO and FMLA coverage. A brief overview follows laboratory policies and procedures to perform high and moderate complexity testing. Performs pre-analytical and post-analytical laboratory support functions.
Demonstrates clear communication with team members to optimize laboratory operations.What you will do:Accurately and efficiently performs pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical processes for laboratory testingMaintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment according to manufacturer's instructionsPerforms and evaluates all required quality control assessments as described in departmental policies and procedures prior to reporting patient resultsEvaluates results of laboratory tests according to laboratory protocols to ensure quality patient careDocuments all laboratory activities according to policies and proceduresMaintains and demonstrates competency assessment in assigned areaTakes responsibility for self-developmentCompletes all assigned mandatory assignments within allowed timelinesPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsMust abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; requirement specific in CLIA '88 to perform high complexity testing.
