Private Equity Solutions – Secondaries Associate

Role Overview

Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is seeking an Associate for its Private Equity Solutions team, a global private markets platform with over 70 investment professionals across New York, suburban Philadelphia, London, and Hong Kong. The team runs a global program spanning primary fund investing, co-investments, and secondaries — having deployed over $30bn across 1,300+ opportunities as of December 2025 — and this role is focused specifically on LP-led secondaries transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to investment sourcing, diligence, and portfolio monitoring — reviewing inbound investment materials, meeting with PE fund managers, and assessing fund/company performance
• Build financial analyses supporting the secondaries process: secondary fund pricing, comparable company valuation, LBO models, return projections with sensitivity analysis, and track-record analysis
• Contribute to secondary-specific marketing materials and initiatives
• Support cross-functional strategic initiatives spanning technology, data/systems, marketing, business development, and business planning

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree from a leading university
• 2-3 years of experience in private equity or investment banking; secondaries experience is a plus
• Strong quantitative modeling skills and solid grasp of financial/valuation concepts
• Highly motivated self-starter with strong communication and project-management skills
