Private Equity Investment Funds Associate Attorney

Onsite Full Time Investing & Investment Banking

Investment funds is one of the few corporate practices where the client relationship compounds — the sponsor whose fund you form this year is the one calling about secondaries, SMAs, and the next vintage for a decade after.

A Global 100 firm is hiring an investment funds associate (3–6 years) in New York, Chicago, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Austin. Cravath scale — $260K–$390K depending on class year.

You'd sit in a market-leading funds group advising sponsors and institutional investors on domestic and international private equity, venture capital, real estate, and hedge funds — with a heavy secondaries docket and real ownership of your own workstreams.

The work includes:

  • Formation and operation of domestic and offshore private equity, venture capital, real estate, and hedge funds
  • Secondary transactions on both sides of the market — sponsor-side and investor-side representations
  • Fund investments on behalf of institutional investors
  • Structuring separately managed accounts and carried interest vehicles

What you bring:

  • 3–6 years of investment funds experience, ideally at an AmLaw 100 firm
  • Real reps on secondaries — sponsor-side, investor-side, or both
  • Working command of fund structures: LPAs, side letters, SMAs, carry vehicles
  • Bar admission in the market where you'd sit

What you get:

  • A market-leading funds platform serving both sponsors and institutional investors
  • A specialized, portable practice — fund clients return every vintage
  • Cravath scale ($260K–$390K depending on class year)
