Private Equity Associate

A highly regarded private equity firm is looking to add a Private Equity Associate to its investment team. The firm invests in established businesses across a range of sectors and offers Associates meaningful exposure across the full investment lifecycle.

The Role

• Evaluate and underwrite new investment opportunities
• Build detailed LBO models, financial models, and valuation analyses
• Conduct financial, commercial, and industry due diligence
• Support transaction execution from initial evaluation through closing
• Prepare investment committee materials and presentations
• Work closely with senior investment professionals, management teams, advisors, and lenders
• Support portfolio company and value-creation initiatives following investments

Ideal Profile

• 2-3 years of experience in private equity or investment banking; 4-5 years may be considered for the right lateral candidate
• Strong transaction experience and financial modeling skills
• Generalist investment background preferred
• Open to candidates with experience across industrials, business services, healthcare, specialty distribution, transportation/logistics , or similar sectors
• Candidates with highly specialized backgrounds in technology, fintech, energy, or other niche sectors are less relevant
• Strong academic background and demonstrated analytical ability
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a lean, collaborative investment team
• Must have ties to the Southeastern U.S. and be open to relocating to Virginia
