Private Client Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney / Senior Associate Attorney – New York, NYDirect Counsel is seeking a Private Client Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney or Senior Associate Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of sophisticated trusts and estates experience to join a highly respected, nationally recognized Private Client practice in New York, NY.This role is ideal for an attorney with hands-on experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning and administration matters. Candidates should have experience with domestic estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, estate and gift tax issues, charitable giving, succession planning, retirement asset planning, and tax-efficient family wealth structures.The Private Client team advises on all aspects of estate, gift, and charitable planning; trust and estate administration; closely held business issues; and fiduciary litigation. This multidisciplinary group collaborates closely with corporate, employment, real estate, tax, trial, and environmental attorneys to serve sophisticated client needs.This position offers a hybrid in-office/remote schedule and flexibility regarding office location for in-office days.

Part-time candidates may also be considered.ResponsibilitiesAdvise high-net-worth clients on complex trusts & estates matters, including tax and succession planningDraft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and related instrumentsSupport estate and trust administration mattersProvide strategic guidance on wealth transfer, charitable planning, and tax-efficient structuringCollaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams across practice areasHandle client communication, analysis, and planning with a high level of professionalism and discretionRequirementsMinimum 4 years of demonstrated experience in sophisticated trusts & estates and private client mattersStrong knowledge of federal and state tax issues impacting estate planningExcellent drafting, writing, and communication skillsClient-service oriented with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyAdmission to the New York State Bar in good standing (required)Additional InformationHybrid work schedule with flexibilityOpportunities for growth, mentorship, and a potential path to partnershipRequired application materials: cover letter, resume, transcript, and 2–3 page writing sampleSalary Range$200,000 – $245,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
