Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Privacy and Cyber Litigation Associate to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of litigation experience, preferably in privacy, cyber, consumer-focused, or class action litigation, and/or federal court litigation.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day case activities and lead fact investigations.
- Research legal issues and develop litigation strategies.
- Draft pleadings, including answers, motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Negotiate with opposing counsel.
Requirements
- Excellent academic and professional credentials.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Comfortable managing client relationships.
- Federal clerkship experience preferred.
- Experience with Fair Credit Reporting Act or other privacy-related statutes is a plus.
- Good standing in the state of residence.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
- Licensed to practice law in the state of residence.
Skills
- Ability to deliver smaller projects with limited supervision.
- Confidently manage workflow for larger projects.
