Job TitleCabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Prior Authorization Specialist to work alongside our Pain Center.The Prior Authorization Specialist is to reduce the risk of claim denials by ensuring authorizations are obtained prior to service.QualificationsJunior College/Technical School required.Bachelor's degree preferred.Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.One year of position-related experience required.Position-Related ExperienceBasic medical terminology understandingGood organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and complete submissionsEffective communication skills for working with providers, staff, and insurance representativesCritical thinking and problem-solving for handling denials and complex casesAbility to work independently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environmentExperienced with Oracle/Cerner EHR
