Working for our team, you can truly make a difference.The Print Tool Technician is responsible for performing all duties outlined in this job description, as well as any additional assignments provided by the Prepress Graphics Manager, Lead, or Plant Manager.
This role is essential to ensuring efficient printing production by guaranteeing that the appropriate tools are available when required by the press and by maintaining timely communication with the production team to minimize downtime.Why work at MCC:Compensation: $20.00 hourlyGenerous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k)Paid Holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, plus 2 floating HolidaysResponsibilities:Regular and predictable attendance, including logging in and out of time workedComplies with all company and safety policies and proceduresMake flexographic/litho platesMake Rotary ScreensResponsible for the critical evaluation of all plates/screens made and completes appropriate QA check listsResponsible for maintaining Plate and Screen Tracking LogsVerifies information on Plate Envelope is correctResponsible for cleaning and maintaining platemaking room/screen room and equipmentResponsible for completing preventive maintenance in accordance to set schedule and needCoordinates plate priorities with Scheduling, Graphics Coordinator, or Graphics SupervisorMaintains components-to-press schedules to understand priorities and mark completion of jobs or flagsParticipate in continuous improvement / Kaizen teamsAttends department meetings and internal training classesParticipates in special projects and performs other duties as assignedQualifications:HS Diploma or GED is required; College degree strongly preferred, ideally related to the printing industryPrint manufacturing experience preferredTechnical expertise in flexo, rotary screen and general printing processesExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into actionable tasksKnowledge of color separations, press layouts, print specificationsProficiency in MS Office applicationsRadius job management software experience is a plusAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter with strong organizational and planning skillsRequires physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time framesMust have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly.
