Principle Systems Engineer with Active TS/SCI
Rate Range: $115/hr - $143/hr W2 (Depends on experience and benefits chosen)
Location: Aurora, CO 80011 (no relocation package offered)
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI (US Citizenship REQUIRED)
Duration: 12+ month contract or Contract to Hire
Responsibilities
- Elaborate capabilities and features, define system interfaces and help determine how system functional capability and performance will be validated and verified by the test team
- Analyze and define how the system works creating use cases
- Support the execution of the integration and test program by automating test procedures and subsequent analyses
- Identify technical issues during software and hardware integration and collaborate with engineers to drive solutions to closure
- Manage the team's backlog and capacity during each program increment
- Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and execution
- Collaborate with program management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget
- Conduct investigation into system anomalies to identify root cause
- Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) in a related field and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: Concept of Operations (ConOps) development, capability and feature elaboration and management, program increment support, functional analysis or interface definition and control
- Development experience on a government contract
- Experience with Agile principles, to include Agile systems engineering practices and/or Agile roles such as Scrum Master / Product Owner
Preferred Skills
- Development experience in project domain (e.g., mission management large-scale ground systems, space-based ISR platforms)
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and with Agile development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, Groovy, or Ruby
- Experience building automation, developer tooling, and lifecycle reporting for large, distributed software programs
- Experience with test automation tools (Cucumber, Gherkin, Behave)
- Experience with requirements management in DOORS or other requirements databases
- Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
