Software Engineer• Company: Northrop Grumman • Position: Software Engineer • Location: 9975 Federal Drive • Duration: long term, ongoing contract – we are a direct sub to the C2BMC program • Clearance: Secret, will hold TS if you already have it • Program – C2BMCJob DescriptionThis position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for the Enterprise Services team. Under minimal direction, the candidate provides specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas.

Essential functions include:Performing in-depth analysis and providing technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user supportMaintains currency, debugs, and configures related software productsWorks from specifications to develop or modify operating system applicationsAssists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programsInterfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the operating system's overall efficiencyDesigns, codes, tests, and implements tools for operational automationWorks on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phasesBasic qualifications:A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degreeApplicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract periodApplicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to startSoftware engineering and development with strong Java/J2EE experienceMust have experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration managementMust have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentExperience developing enterprise applicationsExperience with Java foundation classes and toolkitsExperience in server-side and database developmentExperience working as part of an Agile teamProven success in leading a small team of software developersPreferred qualifications:Command and control system application developmentExperience with Software Integration and verification testingKnowledge and experience implementing Cybersecurity/RMF requirements and mitigationsAbility to present advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leadersFlexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking as directed by program management and customer needs, and the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment
