Overview
The Principal Trainer is the content expert responsible for mastering Epic applications and Piedmont-specific workflows. They develop and lead training programs, including materials and methods such as classroom, web-based learning, remote instruction, and coaching. They ensure training meets initial and ongoing needs, support usability programs, and participate in go-live events. They also build, test, and maintain training environments, participate in workflow design, and establish relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs and materials for Epic applications.
- Coordinate with other trainers and stakeholders to ensure training effectiveness.
- Participate in workflow design and system build to gain in-depth system knowledge.
- Support the training environment setup and maintenance.
- Provide on-site and remote user support during go-lives and beyond.
- Ensure training content quality and stay current with best practices.
- Manage training policies, scheduling, and certification processes.
- Oversee training facility management and technical infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Piedmont staff, physicians, and users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field, or 4 years relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in software training, support, or project management, or 7 years if no degree.
- Epic certification within 90 days of employment.
- Ability to travel overnight for training and support.
