Principal Test Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership for and develop diagnostic and test capabilities for production, field, and system power-up self-test.
- Work with and train CM personnel to perform diagnostic tests, generate summary test reports, and archive results in a production test database.
- Collaborate with CM and engineering teams to resolve production and field failures and implement necessary changes.
- Design, build, test, document, and release electromechanical test fixtures in coordination with the design team.
- Program test software in Python, write scripts and applications on Linux platforms.
- Write formal test protocols and conduct tests of electronic equipment according to these protocols.
- Analyze and present numerical results using software tools such as Matlab to other engineers.
- Troubleshoot issues with electromechanical apparatus by reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of commercial experience as a test engineer of medical device capital equipment, with at least 3 years as a technical lead.
- Experience with standard electronics lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
- Proficiency in using Matlab independently for data analysis and presentation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in diverse teams.
Nice to have:
- Experience with IEC 60601-1 EMC & Safety testing.
- Experience with hand tools, basic power tools, and 3D printing.
