EHSSupport is seeking a Principal/TechnicalLead,LandfillsandHydrology to support major projects across contaminated land assessment and remediation, waste and landfill management, hydrogeology, geochemistry, risk assessment, and regulatory permitting and compliance. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on technical expert with strong communications skills and a collaborative mindset. You will lead technical delivery, contribute to project strategy, support clients, and provide mentorship to junior team members. This position is based in Auckland, New Zealand (working remotely) and with the option (depending on experience) to work more widely in the Asia Pacific Region.

Key Responsibilities

• Developconceptualsitemodels,remedialstrategies,andtechnicalreportsforregulatorysubmission.
• Performandinterpretgeochemicalandhydrogeologicaldata,balancingpracticalprojectsolutionswithdefensiblescience
• Leadprojects(basedontechnicalareaofwork),includingcontaminatedsiteinvestigation/remediation,landfillassessments,environmentalmanagementandcompliance,andpermittingprojects
• Overseeenvironmentalriskassessments,quantitativemodelling,andcomplianceevaluations
• Scope,plan,andmanagefieldprograms,subcontractors,anddatacollectionactivities
• Engagedirectlywithclientstocommunicatefindings,strategy,risk,schedules,anddeliverables
• Prepareproposals,costestimates,andprojectbudgets,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredontimeandwithinscope
• Supportandleadtechnicalteams—providingmentorship,peerreview,andknowledgetransfer
• CoordinatewithmultidisciplinaryteamsacrossEHSSupport’sglobalbusinessunits
• Maintainastronghealth&safetycultureinallfieldandtechnicalactivities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’sdegreeinEnvironmentalScience,Geology,Hydrogeology,EnvironmentalEngineering,orrelateddiscipline;Master’spreferred
• 20+yearsoftechnicalconsultingexperiencesupportingcontaminatedland(includingriskassessment),landfill/wastemanagement,mining,downstreamoil&gas,industrial/manufacturing,and/orconstructionandinfrastructureclients
• Technicalexpertisein atleastone ofthefollowing(twopreferred)
• Contaminatedlandinvestigation&remediation(includinggroundgasandvapour)
• Activeandclosedlandfillmanagement,withafocusonleachateandlandfillgasmanagement
• Geochemistryorhydro-geochemistry
• Hydrogeology&groundwaterassessment
• Humanhealthorecologicalriskassessment
• Environmentalmanagementandpermitting
