Responsibilities
- Provide phone support with customers to resolve issues pertaining to future releases of IMIS and current releases.
- Run vulnerability assessments and STIGS/SCAP to add additional security controls and reduce the attack surface of operating systems and network equipment.
- Recommend and evaluate hardware based on customer needs, ensuring no unwanted features such as wireless communication.
- Make adjustments to operating systems and COTS software to support configuration management and installation.
- Create tools to secure operating systems and applications, and develop packages for installation, removal, setup, and checks.
- Research latest CVEs for software and hardware used by the customer, and document OS patches and CVEs.
- Run vulnerability assessments of lab systems and hardware, updating custom STIG tools and adding further security controls.
- Make recommendations to improve security, performance, and redundancy, and act on approved recommendations.
- Create network environments for testing and troubleshoot network issues at the systems and field level.
- Configure routing protocols in lab environments on physical and virtual switches, firewalls, and routers.
- Contribute to the completion of major engineering programs and projects, developing solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Perform highly complex systems design, development, integration, modeling, simulation, and analysis from start to finish.
- Oversee infrastructure installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Provide continual maintenance and highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve processes.
- Serve as team lead, coach, and guide less experienced professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field.
- 8+ years of related experience (additional years considered in lieu of degree).
- Experience managing and executing GitLab repositories.
- Experience with FIPS 140-2, Common Criteria, JSIG processes, and STIG processes.
- Experience with Cisco ASA, switching, routing, and configuration.
- Experience with Unix, Linux, Oracle Solaris, and LDAP integration security.
- Secret clearance required.
- Certification in Sec+ CE or 8140 equivalent.
Location & Work Conditions
- Onsite in Bossier City, LA; travel 10-25% of the time.
- Standard 40‑hour work week.
