The Principal Software Engineer will focus on using their growing knowledge of the product line to efficiently complete assigned programming and other tasks.
This will involve working with teammates in the office and coordinating and implementing with the greater Baxter R&D and Services teams to provide outstanding customer service during technical support procedures.What you'll be doingDevelop software solutions by studying provided requirements, testing systems flow, and investigating problem areas.Design, develop, and modify software components anywhere in the software stack while following software guidelines and coding standards.Document work and solutions with clear and concise code comments and release documentation.Follow and support the Excel Medical software development lifecycle by assisting with task planning, resource scheduling, and version release estimations.Prepare and install software solutions during initial implementations, patches, and upgrades.Improve system operations by conducting ongoing systems analysis and recommending changes in designs, policies, and procedures.Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.Update job knowledge by studying programming techniques, participating in educational opportunities, and reading professional publications.Work in close partnership with multi-functional teams and management.Support fellow Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and other members of the Engineering and Commercial teams by providing information, advice, and educational coaching.What you'll bring5-7 years of software development experience;Advanced knowledge of C#, C++, and JavaScript languages;Strong understanding of .NET framework runtime and library components;Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and newer);Some knowledge of Android/Linux systems and environments;Mechanical and/or computer hardware experience;Ability to learning new and sophisticated concepts;Understanding of the following:LAN/WAN concepts such as DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP,Network routing and switching in relation to application connectivity needs,Network sniffing and packet analyzing,VPN and related GUI/web-portal based administrative tools,Active Directory and domain policies,VMWare administration,Citrix XenApp application configuration.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree (or higher), with computer science, computer engineering, and/or network engineering focus;5-7 years of experience in Healthcare Technology;2-4 years of experience working with patient monitoring or other data producing medical devices;2-4 years of documentation experience in a QMS or with FDA submissions;Knowledge of advanced network and cybersecurity concepts a big plus.We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $68,000 to $156,000 plus an annual incentive bonus, commission target.
The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position.
