What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain production software supporting OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
- Build and evolve engineering platforms, APIs, automation services, and operational systems that enable OCI’s global network infrastructure.
- Own software solutions throughout their lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment, operations, and continuous improvement.
- Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages and software engineering practices.
- Partner with Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Network Automation teams to transform operational challenges into scalable software solutions.
- Design and implement resilient, observable, and highly available platform services.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, deployment workflows, and release processes.
- Troubleshoot production software, infrastructure, and networking issues across distributed systems.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to the long-term architecture of NRB engineering platforms.
- Develop technical documentation, engineering standards, runbooks, and operational best practices.
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, documentation and operational workflows while applying sound engineering judgment and validating all outputs.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify operations through software and automation.

Required Qualifications
Software Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
- Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and service‑oriented architectures.
- Design software architectures that emphasize modularity, extensibility, maintainability, and long‑term operational sustainability.
- Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
- Experience supporting Linux‑based production environments.
- Experience designing highly available, resilient, and observable systems.
- Experience using AI‑assisted engineering tools such as Oracle AI, GitHub Copilot, Codex, ChatGPT Enterprise, or similar technologies to improve software development, automation, documentation, and engineering productivity.
Infrastructure Engineering and Networking
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with hyperscale cloud, data center, or service provider networking environments.
- Familiarity with Ethernet switching platforms, network fabrics, optical networking, and large‑scale infrastructure deployments.
- Experience with network automation technologies such as YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF, gNMI, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of infrastructure observability, telemetry, monitoring, and operational analytics.
Preferred Experience
- Building and operating hyperscale cloud infrastructure.
- Developing software for infrastructure automation, platform engineering, or developer platforms.
- Experience designing workflow orchestration systems, distributed state machines, or long‑running infrastructure automation.
- Supporting AI or GPU data center deployments.
- Designing and maintaining engineering platforms used by large operational organizations.
- Root cause analysis and production incident response.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management.
- Vendor collaboration and platform integration.
- Driving engineering excellence through automation and continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This role is primarily focused on software development and platform engineering while working closely with Network Engineering teams. Engineers may occasionally travel to OCI data centers to support deployments, validate platform capabilities, troubleshoot production issues, and gain firsthand understanding of the infrastructure their software supports.
