Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Project/Program Manager to join our Configurable Mixed Signal Division (CMSD). In this role, you will demonstrate full project ownership, serving as the go‑to person for internal teams and managing assigned chip development projects from kickoff to customer release. You will lead cross‑functional, geographically dispersed teams to deliver complex mixed‑signal products, ensuring alignment with Renesas' global methodologies and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned chip development projects by leading cross‑functional, geographically dispersed teams focused on delivering products from kickoff to release.
- Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Serve as the go‑to person for all internal teams and maintain total involvement throughout the product development process.
- Track project metrics/KPIs such as schedule, risks, scope, budget, cost entitlement, and manufacturability with the CMSD PMO lead.
- Support Annual Operation Planning and forecast spending to align actual spending with forecast.
- Maintain discipline, processes, and execution methodologies to continuously improve project execution.
- Collaborate with functional leadership to identify and remove execution roadblocks, mitigate risks, and improve efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and peers in other business groups to align CMSD product group with One Renesas methodologies, tools, and systems.
- Work with demand creation, sales, and marketing to align execution and sample priorities with market and customer needs.
- Communicate with leadership and stakeholders to keep them informed of project status during periodic reviews.
- Escalate early to address issues before they impact execution metrics, establishing Tiger teams when necessary.
- Guide the team to prepare and report project status updates at management decision point reviews and cross‑functional project progress reviews.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of fundamentals of design, fabrication, packaging, testing, characterization, qualification, and mass production of semiconductor products.
- Track record of delivering projects on schedule, budget, and quality with a first‑time‑right mentality.
- Implement a project management strategy to challenge status quo and drive higher efficiency of execution.
- Continuous focus on mitigating project risk by tracking progress, contingency planning, and timely escalation.
- Develop a strong, disciplined mindset among project teams to collaborate and execute with continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, FMEA, 8D/Root Cause Analysis, Microsoft OneNote, etc.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of semiconductor development experience, with specific expertise in TPM and inductor technologies.
- 5+ years of experience working for a major analog semiconductor company.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on technical program/project management experience leading teams in developing mixed‑signal analog products for commercial, industrial, or automotive markets (PMP certification is a plus).
- 3–5 years of experience in an NPI functional role (Product, Test, Validation, Design, or Quality engineering).
- In‑depth understanding of end‑to‑end product development flow (concept to production release) and exposure to automotive development processes (e.g., ISO 26262, APQP) is highly desirable.
Education
- BS in Electrical, Electronics, or other engineering disciplines relevant to semiconductor field; MS preferred.
Additional Information
Expected annual pay range: $210,000 to $250,000. Position also eligible for bonuses.
