This organisation designs and manufactures high-reliability electromechanical switching and sensing products that support mission-critical aerospace and defence applications where precision, performance and reliability are non-negotiable. Engineers are given genuine ownership of their products, working closely with customers, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams to solve complex engineering challenges. From clean-sheet design and New Product Introduction through qualification and production, you’ll have the opportunity to influence product strategy, introduce new technologies and develop innovative solutions that make a real impact across commercial and military aerospace programmes.
The Principal Product Engineer will lead the development of aerospace switching and sensing products, taking ownership of product performance, technical direction and engineering delivery throughout the complete product lifecycle.
As the Principal Product Engineer your responsibilities will include
- Leading clean-sheet development of flight-critical pressure switches, electromechanical switches and precision sensing products
- Designing high-reliability switching mechanisms, mechanical assemblies and electromechanical systems for demanding aerospace applications
- Driving New Product Introduction, qualification, environmental testing, certification and production release activities
- Leading product improvements, failure investigations, root cause analysis and engineering change programmes
- Working closely with customers and cross-functional engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver innovative aerospace products
As the Principal Product Engineer you will bring
- Experience developing pressure switches, electromechanical switches, pressure sensors or other high-reliability aerospace products
- Strong knowledge of precision mechanical design, electromechanical systems and product development within regulated industries
- Experience supporting aerospace qualification programmes including DO-160, MIL-STD or equivalent certification standards
- Proven success delivering products from concept through qualification, validation and production
- Strong technical leadership, customer engagement and cross-functional communication skills
