As a Principal Network Engineer supporting the IHS EHR program, you will be trusted to engage in a variety of technical topics to ensure the success of our customer.This is a remote position, US based. This role requires you to obtain and maintain an in-depth Public Trust Level 5. This investigation will review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.HOW A PRINCIPAL NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:As part of the Cloud Infrastructure team in the broader program Engineering organization, the Principal Network Engineer is tasked with implementing network requirements to meet customer and program objectivesSupports Deployment activities primarily by creating device mappings in compliance with customer VLAN micro segmentation requirements for facility deployments.Supports Sustainment/Support activities by troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) connections to the IHS network;
VLAN configurations;
system-to-system interface connections, and other protocols, and service management (PPSM) topicsCollaborate with cybersecurity to ensure alignment with NIST CSF, NIST 800‑53, PPSM, and IHS agency policies;
collect artifacts for ATO approvalsWorks closely with the IHS and Team GDIT Network and Cybersecurity teams in developing strategies for routing network traffic to meet cybersecurity policies and objectivesWorks closely with the IHS and Team GDIT Configuration Management and Change Management teamsParticipate in cross-functional teams tasked with implementing new or emerging vendor (chiefly Oracle Health) capabilities, or greenfield initiativesMaintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment (OCI preferred)Prior experience with networking and cybersecurity for large Federal programBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.8+ years of experience supporting medium-to-large IT projectsTraining/education/experience in task coordination;
functional knowledge ofIT project management concepts and tools.Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience with OCI preferred;
Federal instances of OCI a bonusExperience with the Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium) system preferredTask management experience and/or skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills;
ability to manage frequently changing priorities of competing importanceAbility to communicate and interact effectively with internal/external teams including key stakeholders, various customer teams, and/or executive leadershipAbility to work and support the work of others across multiple U.S. time zonesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines, following detailed written policies, processes, procedures, and work instructionsAbility to produce high-quality documentationSECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:Must be able to obtain a SSBI (T5) public trust clearance, which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years. This role requires you to obtain and maintain an in-depth Public Trust Level 5.
