Job Summary

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Westinghouse Parts Business, you will work in our New Stanton facility to support the WPB Procurement (Parts) Engineering team. You will support RCP parts/products for operating nuclear plants and will report to the Manager of Procurement Engineering. This is a mobile role that is expected on site in New Stanton at least 2–3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the responsible engineer for pump sealing systems used in nuclear power plant applications.
  • Design, test, and oversee manufacturing of pump seals and sealing systems for harsh nuclear plant environments.
  • Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and procurement requirements for pump products.
  • Collaborate with a cross‑functional team that includes quality engineering, supply chain management, marketing, customer service, and the supplier base.
  • Lead R&D efforts for pump seal product design changes and enhancements.
  • Support pump seal forensic analysis activities and prepare/review engineering reports detailing results and recommendations.
  • Provide technical input to customer proposals.
  • Offer engineering consultation to product management, manufacturing, and operations for pump and pump seal products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in similar roles (15+ years preferred).
  • Design experience with pump seal/sealing systems.
  • Experience with seal testing, test setup design, and qualification.
  • Experience with data analysis from seal testing programs.
  • Experience with nuclear plant qualification programs for SSCs.
  • Experience writing technical requirements/specifications for equipment procurement.
  • Experience with nuclear/main coolant pump equipment highly preferred.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year.
