As a senior individual contributor, the Principal Financial Analyst provides financial leadership across a broad portfolio of pre-market and post-market clinical studies, ensuring strong financial planning, forecasting, and transparency to support key development and regulatory milestones. This position is an on-site role based in Plymouth, Minnesota and partners closely with clinical, medical science, and finance leadership. The role operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority while supporting critical investment and portfolio decisions across the Peripheral Vascular organization. Peripheral Vascular Health therapies treat patients with Peripheral and Carotid Artery Disease, End-Stage Renal Disease, Superficial and Deep Venous Diseases, and a variety of conditions treated with Peripheral Embolization, caring for over 1.1 million patients globally with lifesaving and life-enhancing therapies. The Principal Financial Analyst supporting Peripheral Vascular Clinical Research plays a critical role in enabling the development and clinical validation of next-generation therapies for peripheral vascular disease.At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.* Serve as the primary finance partner to the Vice President of Peripheral Vascular Health Clinical Research & Medical Science, supporting financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for the global clinical research organization.* Lead financial planning and reporting for the Peripheral Vascular Health clinical study portfolio, including both pre-market and post-market studies.* Maintain and enhance financial models supporting clinical studies, ensuring alignment between study design, enrollment assumptions, timelines, and financial projections.* Partner with clinical operations teams to monitor study enrollment, site activation, and training activities to ensure accurate forecasting of clinical study spending.* Provide financial leadership for external research and investigator-sponsored research programs, including planning, forecasting, and financial tracking.* Partner with the Clinical Research Senior Director to provide financial reporting and forecasting as well as support allocation of clinical budgets across development programs based on study design, enrollment expectations, and program priorities.* Partner with the clinical organization to plan clinical infrastructure and project labor, including supply/demand reviews and labor rate analysis, and collaborate with Research & Development Center of Excellence and Medtronic Clinical and Regulatory Solutions on shared resourcing and cost pools* Deliver consolidated reporting, key metrics, and financial insights to support leadership decision making across the clinical research portfolio.* Drive financial rigor and transparency across clinical research investments, supporting governance reviews and long-range planning.* Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, financial processes, and reporting tools supporting the clinical research organization.* Assist in the education and development of business partner financial acumen and reporting tools.Must Have: Minimum Requirements* Bachelor’s degree* Minimum of 7 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, (or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years)Nice to Have* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field* Experience supporting clinical research, R&D, or product development organizations* Experience working with clinical study financial models or large program budgets* Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders including clinical, medical, R&D, and operations teams* Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and long-range planning experience* Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively within a highly matrixed organization* Strong executive communication and presentation skills* Experience working in the medical device, healthcare, or regulated industry* MBA, CPA, or other relevant advanced certificationPour les diplômes de baccalauréat obtenus en dehors des États-Unis, un diplôme qui satisfait aux exigences de la réglementation 8 C.F.R. § 214.2 (h) (4) (iii) (A) est requis.**Exigences physiques du poste**Les déclarations ci-dessus visent à décrire la nature générale et le niveau du travail effectué par les employés affectés à ce poste, mais elles ne constituent pas une liste exhaustive de toutes les responsabilités et compétences requises pour ce poste.Les exigences physiques décrites dans la section Responsabilités de cette fiche de poste sont représentatives de celles auxquelles un employé doit satisfaire pour remplir correctement les fonctions essentielles du poste.
