Principal Financial AnalystWe are looking for a customer focused, inquisitive Principal Financial Analyst to join Bank Tech Finance and support the Payments organization. You will support multiple Tech executives and influence business decisions for enterprise payments platforms, while maintaining a sustainable financial trajectory.Financial Analysts perform financial data analysis in preparing financial statements and frequently build reports for higher level associates; provide management and business clients with project statuses; perform reporting and analysis to support presentation and ad-hoc requests. You will be asked to challenge our current well-managed processes to be more proactive, effective, and efficient, and you will be encouraged to find new ways to tell stories, analyze trends, and diagnose results in a compelling and visual nature.The role requires strong communication, problem solving, strategic thinking and influencing skills:Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insightsDevelop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiencesFoster trusted business relationshipsGeneral Responsibilities:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysisLead development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences, clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teamsAccurately analyze & explain key cost drivers and monthly variances, suggest actions to the business, and help manage the regular reporting processProactively identify and lead new analysis that drives additional insights into business performance and opportunitiesPartner with finance leaders and their teams, as well as other internal stakeholdersProvide management and business clients with project statusesWork closely with the finance team to help identify areas and processes for driving efficienciesReact to ad-hoc requests and special projectsManage, prioritize, and delegate tasks independentlyBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a combinationPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering) or military experienceMaster's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in FinanceChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license5+ years of experience in financial analysis and financial modelingExcellent verbal and written communication skills3+ years experience in financial services, banking or technology industries3+ years experience partnering with senior leaders and internal stakeholdersThe minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Financial AnalystRichmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Financial AnalystNew York, NY: $128,000 - $146,100 for Principal Financial AnalystCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
