This is a customer-facing, technical individual contributor role, responsible for enabling design wins by bridging customer requirements with MIPS' product portfolio, including processor IP, software tools and custom silicon solutions.Essential Responsibilities:Your Job Customer Technical EngagementAct as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development phasesConduct customer presentations, architectural reviews and product demonstrationsSupport customer engineering teams in evaluating and adopting MIPS solutionsProvide technical guidance on: Processor IP integration, Software toolchains and development environments and System architecture considerationsDesign-In & Design Win SupportDrive design-in activities at assigned customers and design housesSupport technical discussions to secure design wins for: CPU IP licensing, custom silicon programs and software solutions.

Assist customers in transitioning from evaluation to implementation.Solution Enablement - Help Customers Understand and Implement MIPS' Value PropositionOpen RISC?V architecture flexibilityMulti-threaded, high-performance computeHigh-performance scalable Neural processorsFunctional safety-ready solutionsSupport system-level optimization for performance, power and costCollaboration with Sales & Business DevelopmentPartner with Business Development to support opportunity creation and closureProvide technical input to proposals, RFIs, and customer presentationsTranslate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teamsEcosystem & Market SupportSupport engagement with ecosystem partners (software, EDA, design services)Participate in customer workshops, demos, and industry eventsHelp position MIPS solutions within the broader semiconductor ecosystem in NAMOther Responsibilities:Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.Required QualificationsBachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering discipline or similar10+ years in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering or Design EngineeringExperience in Semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, or embedded systems, Industrial, Automotive, or IDM electronics or related marketsProven track record supporting customer engagements and design winsStrong understanding of Industrial, automotive, or IDM electronic architectures (MCUs, SoCs, domain/zonal controllers)Familiarity with: Processor architectures, Embedded software development (compilers, SDKs, OS) and System-level design and integrationStrong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate independently in a field-based roleHands-on technical mindset with strong debugging capabilityAbility to bridge technical depth with customer business needsFluent in EnglishPreferred QualificationsExperience with RISC?V ecosystem or CPU IP integrationPrior experience supporting industrial, automotive, or IDM customers in North AmericaExperience with SoC development and custom silicon implementation flowsUnderstanding of functional safety standards or design requirements in Industrial & Automotive marketsExpected Salary Range$130,000.00 - $227,000.00.
