Job Overview
At Medtronic, you will serve as the key engineering partner for the Global Facilities Team, acting as the primary liaison between Operations, Project Management, and Construction teams to ensure facility projects and infrastructure initiatives are delivered successfully. You will translate business and operational needs into engineering solutions while maintaining alignment across multiple internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key engineering partner and Owner’s Representative for global facilities, translating business needs into engineering solutions.
- Lead and coordinate the work of facilities teams, experienced technical professionals, and specialized vendors, providing technical oversight and direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and building automation; drive initiatives that improve operational reliability and energy performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate resources, provide technical expertise, and ensure projects are completed safely and to the highest quality standards.
- Plan, design, and oversee reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
- Gather data on specifications, restrictions, schedules, and feasibility for projects.
- Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms on design criteria and prepare layout and detail drawings.
- Prepare bid sheets, contracts, and estimate design costs for construction and facilities acquisition.
- Inspect or direct inspection of construction progress and commissioning to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Travel to other sites 20‑40% depending on project work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of Facility Mechanical infrastructure, Electrical Infrastructure, and Building Automation Systems experience OR Master’s Degree and 5+ years of experience OR PhD and 3+ years of experience.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 CFR § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
Nice to Have
- Mechanical system knowledge – HVAC, electrical, building automation, plumbing.
- Experience supporting design/build of clean rooms, chiller plants, compressed air plants.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics.
- Experience with integrated building solutions – temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management, alarming, zoned lighting control, facility access control.
- Experience with automation protocols – Modbus, BACnet, LonWorks.
- Tridium/Niagara BAS Certification.

Benefits & Compensation
Salary: $127,200 – $190,800 USD (U.S. locations). Eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
