Candidates will perform both classical and finite element analysis of aircraft primary and secondary structures, analysis of bolted and bonded joints, composite laminate analysis, and analysis of fittings and fasteners.Essential functions include drawing analysis review and sign-off, presenting results at PDR/CDR meetings and internal design reviews, documenting analysis results, and supporting structural testing with pre-test analysis and authoring of test plans and test reports.
Responsibilities could also include leading a small work package, interfacing with customer, technical support, proposal technical inputs, cost estimating, meeting schedule and cost commitments. The candidate will be required to coordinate with other engineering disciplines for analysis inputs and design implementation.Duties may consist of analysis, research and development of structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analysis of damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include NASTRAN, FEMAP, NX, ABAQUS, SLIM/VISION and a variety of software applications.This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.
