Principal Engineer Weymouth MassWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electronic & Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of embedded electronic systems and products. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving hardware, firmware, and software development from concept through production while supporting manufacturing, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in embedded systems, circuit design, and firmware development with strong problem-solving, collaboration, and mentoring skills.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems, including hardware, firmware, and supporting softwareDefine system architecture, specifications, and technical requirementsDesign analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for manufacturability and reliabilityDevelop embedded firmware using C/C++ for microcontroller-based systemsCreate and maintain production, calibration, and test software applicationsDesign PCB schematics and layouts using Altium, KiCad, or similar toolsPerform hardware bring-up, debugging, testing, and troubleshootingDevelop test fixtures, validation systems, and production test strategiesSupport manufacturing, assembly, quality, and continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in design reviews and ensure product performance and reliabilityMentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teamsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred10–15+ years of experience in embedded systems and electronic product designStrong expertise in embedded firmware development using C/C++Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCB developmentHands-on experience with hardware debugging and system troubleshootingFamiliarity with production test systems and manufacturing supportExperience with Python, C#,.NET, or similar tools is a plusKnowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies preferredStrong leadership, analytical, communication, and mentoring skillsWork Environment: Hands-on role within both engineering and manufacturing environments, requiring collaboration across departments and support of production activities.
