Position: Principal Engineer/Senior Principal Engineer – Survivability (Melbourne, Florida). Responsible for developing and integrating advanced technologies to reduce detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum, and for optimizing survivability technologies for air‑based systems within the NGAS portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate advanced technology to reduce aircraft detectability.
- Develop and implement predictive analysis codes; build and test physical models; design, develop, and build test and verification equipment; develop, test, and integrate specialty materials.
- Work closely with engineers of other disciplines to optimize integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft.
Basic Qualifications
- Education and experience level:
- Principal Engineer (LV3): Bachelor's in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience, OR Master’s with 3 years.
- Senior Principal Engineer (LV4): Bachelor’s with 8 years, Master’s with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years of related engineering experience.
- Applied electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability; or comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials.
- Experience in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX.
- Ability to transfer and maintain the current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance or enroll in Continuous Evaluation within a reasonable time period.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in signature integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (e.g., FMS, Patran, Cubit).
- Proven experience with 3D Method of Moments (MoM) such as SENTRi and 3D Physical Optics (PO) codes such as Xpatch.
- Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other technical languages.
- Knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance and/or previous SAP/SAR clearance.
Salary
Primary Level: $108,200.00 – $162,400.00. Secondary Level: $135,000.00 – $202,600.00. Salary determined by scope, responsibilities, and candidate qualifications.
