What you will get to do: This position involves supporting TWT production technology lines and requires a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities include enhancing production efficiency and developing metrics for the production floor.Use Tableau for data visualization and reporting on major metrics/KPIs to support decision-making across operations and leadershipLead cross functional production metric reviews and drive root cause analysis for issuesManage and analyze databases to drive insights and continuous improvement activities (standard work, 5S, storage optimization, and root cause analysis) to reduce waste and improve labor efficienciesMaintain and update routings, standards, lot sizing, and batching rules in SAP; collaborate with materials planning to ensure accurate part master dataAnalyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand efficiently. Develop optimized scheduling that aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraintsPerform bottleneck analysis, simulation modeling, and value stream mapping to optimize product flow and critical paths through the factoryLead cost and inventory control and reduction efforts; identify and implement inventory levers and lot sizing strategiesEstablish or support training programs for production operations to sustain process improvements and standardized workThe ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering degree.A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production improvement, capacity planning, or industrial engineering rolesExperience with data visualizations and reportingHands-on experience with SAP (material master, routings, MRP) and familiarity with MRP planning conceptsU.S. Citizenship requiredThe ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is requiredExperience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologiesSix Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent continuous improvement certificationExperience in forecasting, line balancing, and capacity modeling specifically in ramping/opening new production linesExperience with static and dynamic capacity modeling using modeling and simulation software.Experience with Minitab Statistical SoftwareExperience with Microsoft Excel (Formulas: VLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH, IF statements, pivot tables, pivot charts etc.)At least 3 years of demonstrated experience leading project teamsNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
