Job Summary:The Principal Engineer, DC Power is a position centered around developing innovative power distribution solutions for data center environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing efficient, reliable, and scalable DC power systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.Responsibilities:Design and develop DC power distribution architecturesTranslate complex customer specifications into clear technical requirements and project objectivesCreate technical layouts and presentations for customers as well as executive leadershipAnalyze power requirements and optimize solutions for efficiency and reliabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams on power infrastructure projects to promote One Vertiv solutionsEvaluate and recommend emerging technologies according to market research trendsEnsure compliance with safety standards and industry regulationsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field7+ years of experience in power systems design, preferably in data center environmentsExpert knowledge of DC power distribution systems and architecturesStrong understanding of power electronics and conversion technologiesFamiliarity with industry standards (IEEE, NFPA, UL, NEC)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent project management and communication abilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience with power management systems and monitoring toolsExperience with renewable energy integrationKnowledge of energy storage systemsFamiliarity with thermal management considerationsThe successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on developing next-generation power solutions for data center infrastructure while maintaining high standards of reliability and efficiency.Travel Requirements:10% including internationallyThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.OUR CORE PRINCIPLES: Safety.
